Just arrived from Sweden are 40 folding museum stools complete with two trolleys for storage and transportation. These elegant black stools are stable to sit on, light to carry, and are even useful to lean on while standing – something akin to a superior shooting stick. They will be particularly welcome on guided tours of the art galleries so that visitors can pause, look and listen in comfort.
Friends of Te Papa on last year’s tour of the Auckland Art Gallery were so impressed with their new portable stools it didn’t take long for your Committee to decide to offer a similar set as a gift to our museum, too.
This award winning Stockholm II design, chosen by many international museums, was delivered at an all-up cost of about $10,000. Look out for them on your next visit to galleries on Levels 4 and 5.
