Would you like some volunteer work at Te Papa? Would you like to help the Friends of Te Papa promote membership? Do you have some free time at the weekends?

A ‘charged for exhibition’ is a main opportunity the Friends have to promote membership. The incentive “join now and see this exhibition free” can be compelling. The next major exhibition DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition opens on Saturday 12 December 2015 and will close Easter Monday 2016.

The Friends will promote membership on 12 weekends during the exhibition season. Working in pairs you will interact positively with visitors and provide information on the Friends of Te Papa and sign up new members. The roster is for two hours on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1pm – 3pm.

You will be required to attend one of two briefing sessions, Saturday 28 November 10.15am – 12noon or Thursday 3 December, 5.30pm – 7pm.

You will be someone who:
Enjoys meeting people
Has good communication skills
Is enthusiastic, punctual and reliable
Has a moderate level of fitness (on feet for two hours)

You will need to be:
Familiar with Te Papa and the Friends’ programme
Available for a minimum of two two-hours sessions during a weekend in January – March.
