Surrealist Art – Audio descriptions

Surrealist Art – Audio descriptions

While it’s not possible to visit the Surrealist Art exhibition just now, you might be interested to listen to, or read transcripts for, the free online audio descriptions for a taste of the in-gallery experience.

There are seven recordings in total, with seven transcripts. The first track is an overall introduction to the exhibition, followed by a track for each gallery in the order in which you would travel through them. Our Te Papa audio describer Judith Jones describes some of the physical elements that contribute to the overall experience in each gallery, then audio describes one or more artworks in each.

Even if you have visited the exhibition, you may enjoy to spend some more time with the artworks in this way. Click here to hear the audio (Te Papa’s website).
