Athol McCredie gave members a fascinating glimpse into the life and photography of Adkin. Leslie Adkin (1888-1964) was a farmer near Levin, but is better known as an amateur scholar, geologist, ethnologist, author and photographer.

Just being allowed through the locked doors into the back corridors of Te Papa was worth the price of admission. I felt privileged to gain insight to this powerhouse of research, where so many of our taonga are cared for.
