Murals are by definition large and usually fixed in position on the wall of a building. Their future is forever determined by what happens to the building, which is often owned by an organisation rather than an individual. Changes in ownership, fashion and scant respect for history, too often lead to the destruction of a mural.

I came away with feelings of sadness for the loss of lives, especially those of young children, overwhelming admiration for the steadfastness of our early pioneering ancestors, and ongoing thankfulness for those who continue to respect, preserve and maintain our heritage. I will certainly visit again.
