Behind the Scenes in Conservation

Te Papa conservators will be carrying out conservation treatment on a number of Van der Velden’s paintings over the next few months ... This evening is an opportunity for Friends of Te Papa to visit the conservation laboratory and find out about the conservation process. Conservators will explain what they’re doing and show images of the treatments from when the paintings first entered the laboratory. You will be able to see the paintings up close in the conservation lab, and ask questions of the conservators.
