Tīvaevae: Out of the glory box

Tīvaevae: Out of the glory box

Do you have a tīvaevae at home? Or a shawl, quilt or another hand-made textile treasure?

As part of the Tīvaevae: Out of the glory box exhibition, you are welcome to share an image of your treasured textiles with us. These posts will be streamed live in the gallery and on the Arts Te Papa website.

All you have to do is take a photo of your textile and upload it to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hash tags #tivaevae or #textiletreasures. On Facebook, make sure your posts privacy setting is public. (click on the drop down box next to the post button, select PUBLIC  {the globe icon})

If social media isn’t your thing then take a photo and email it with a brief caption to the Friends’ office, or give us a call and we’ll arrange to upload it onto the Te Papa Instagram account for you.
