A standing ovation

A standing ovation

On Thursday 20 November the Friends of Te Papa held a special function to thank volunteers for their significant contribution and celebrate their excellent work. More than 40 people attended the occasion. Over a glass of bubbly and some delicious nibbles, the President Gordon Shroff acknowledged the vital role volunteers play in assisting the Friends and supporting Te Papa. Some of those present had been volunteering for many years, others had started more recently. It was a great opportunity for all to meet, socialise, exchange ideas and give feedback. Such was the success of the evening that it may even become an annual event!

The Friends of Te Papa are heavily dependent on the contribution of volunteers, who assist in a range of ways including membership promotion, office administration, event management, fund-raising and communications.  More opportunities for voluntary work may occur over coming months.  All those with an interest in becoming a volunteer for the Friends are encouraged to get in touch on 04 381 7051 or [email protected].
