By popular demand we’re happy to announce our complete Science for Lunch series taking place throughout November. Enjoy a variety of events, including a behind the scenes tour, exclusive information on the upcoming new Taiao | Nature space and lectures from Te Papa experts and the science community. Bring your own lunch on your break from the office or from sorting out the garden in preparation from summer. Further your scientific understanding on a variety of topics and see how other disciplines interact with science and work to enhance it. Check out the full series below:

Botany Collection Tour, Sat 3 Nov: A tour of how Te Papa cares for its botanical treasures.

Taiao | Nature: Behind the Scenes, Tues 6 Nov: A behind the scenes look at how the exhibition design team will bring new life to Te Papa’s nature zone. (Open to Friends members only)

The Botany Session, Thurs 15 Nov: Join Te Papa’s botany curator and botany research to discover the wonders of the herbarium and the awesomeness of forget-me-nots.

Mātauranga Maori in Taiao| Nature, Tues 20 Nov: Curator Brad Haami takes us through the wonderful intersections of knowledge between Mātauranga and science in the new Taiao | Nature. (Open to Friends members only)

Medical Conditions and Helpful Plants, Thurs 22 Nov: Expert Reg Harris brings the Friends a talk that looks at range of medical conditions and research-based plant therapies used to help alleviate them.

A Social History of the Fern, Thurs 29 Nov: Researcher Pat Brownsey takes us through why the fern has achieved iconic status in New Zealand.
