Volunteers wanted to promote membership

Would you like some volunteer work at Te Papa? Would you like to help the Friends of Te Papa increase their membership? Do you have some free time at the weekends?

A ‘charged for exhibition’ is the main opportunity the Friends have to promote membership.  The incentive “join and now see this exhibition free” can be compelling.  Te Papa’s new exhibition Bug Lab opened in December and will close on 17 April 2017 (Easter Monday).

The Friends will promote membership on 11 weekends during the exhibition season from 28 Jan – 9 April 2017.  Working in pairs you will interact positively with visitors and provide information on the Friends of Te Papa and sign up new members.  The roster is for two hours on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1pm – 3pm.

You will be required to attend the briefing session on Saturday 28 January, 10.15am – 12noon.

You will be someone who:
Enjoys meeting people
Has good communication skills
Is enthusiastic, punctual and reliable
Has a moderate level of fitness (you will be on your feet for two hours)

You will need to be:
Be familiar with Te Papa and the Friends’ programme
Available for a minimum of two two-hour sessions during a weekend in February – April.

If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.  Please phone Elizabeth Ridder (04) 381 7051 to discuss further.
