As part of Circa Theatre and Te Papa’s shared goals to develop a vibrant and dynamic cultural precinct, a freshly renovated bar and foyer have opened at Circa Theatre. This shared project between Circa and Te Papa has been in the planning stage since May 2017, and is the completion of first phase of renovations for the building.

Celebrating Te Papa’s new relationship with Circa, Wellington audiences will see their first co-production as part of the New Zealand Festival, creating Circa’s most ambitious undertaking to date. Rushes will see Circa open its doors, corridors, theatres and rehearsal spaces to be explored in this fresh, innovative production. This multi-award-winning, immersive experience created by Movement of the Human and presented as a co-production by Circa and Te Papa, perfectly showcases the newly revitalised building. Immerse yourself in this unique experience where live music gig meets art gallery experience meets theatre, dance and film. In Rushes you will navigate your way around a series of performance spaces throughout Circa that are activated and on display for the hour.

Friends of both Te Papa and Circa have a discounted price of $30 (normally $42 for adult). Attendees will be asked to show their Friends membership card on arrival.
