Between Dreams: Resistance and Representation in Asian Aotearoa is a bold, timely new collection from Te Papa Press — one that invites us to rethink what it means to be Asian in Aotearoa today. Bringing together journalists, researchers, activists, filmmakers and political commentators, the book explores the complexities of living between cultures and the rich legacies of Asian diaspora histories in Aotearoa.

This special launch event offers a chance to hear directly from the voices behind the book. Te Papa curator and editor Grace Gassin will be joined by contributors Serena Lal, Keith Ng, and Sapna Samant for a lively and thoughtful panel kōrero. Together, they’ll discuss the making of the book, the stories that shaped it, and the broader conversations it opens about identity, belonging, and representation in Aotearoa.
