Leslie Adkin: Local History Discussion

Leslie Adkin: Local History Discussion

Leslie Adkin, one of Aotearoa’s finest early photographers, is the focus of an upcoming discussion led by Local & NZ History Specialist Gábor Tóth with Te Papa Curator of Photography Athol McCredie. The free event will explore Adkin’s remarkable early‑1900s images of the Wellington region and the stories they reveal. Adkin’s beautifully composed photographs, taken between 1900 and the 1930s, are a highlight of Te Papa’s historical collection and are currently on display. McCredie and Tóth bring decades of expertise in New Zealand photography and regional history to this richly contextual conversation.
