We are thrilled to bring you, for the first time ever, the Te Papa Friends Takeover, in which we the Friends of Te Papa have the whole museum to themselves to stay up late at our place for one night only, along with a host of talks, tours, discounts, live music and chances to contribute to the future of the museum.

Beyond Te Papa: Tectonics, Tsunamis and Technology

It takes several villages to create a brand new $12 million nature zone for a museum and it brings together groups from all different parts of the science community. We'll be hearing from 2 of Te Papa's key partners, GNS and GeoNet, about their involvement and knowledge around bringing to life the updated Active Land space in te Taiao | Nature.

The Endemic Wall is one of the highlights of the new exhibition Te Taiao Nature.  It’s a beautiful demonstration of the great diversity of life that is unique to Aotearoa New Zealand.  There are over 600 species of animals, plants, and fungi displayed!

Talk: Seabird Research in Remote Fiordland

Bird curator Colin Miskelly has led four expeditions to southern Fiordland since 2016, all focused on seabird conservation. Colin's most recent trip was partially funded by the Friends of Te Papa.
