Step behind the scenes with this talk from Te Papa’s Curator of Modern Art Lizzie Bisley. Lizzie is co-curator of Surrealist Art: Masterpieces from Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. In this talk she will delve into the process of creating a major art exhibition – revealing how the exhibition narrative was formed, the inspirations and rationale behind the spatial and graphic design, and the process of developing interpretative tools such as the exhibition’s immersive Dali film.
Lizzie specialises in modern art and design, particularly from the years between 1920 and 1950. She has worked extensively on European and American modernism, and is currently researching contemporary New Zealand art of the interwar period.
