Friends President Elizabeth Kay invites you to join her on Tuesday 5 June at 5.45 pm for a special function to farewell Friends Manager Elizabeth Ridder and to celebrate 20 successful years of the Friends.
This early evening event in the Toi Art gallery at Te Papa will be a chance to farewell Elizabeth, catch up with Friends, and enjoy a glass of bubbly. After the formalities, Nina Tonga, curator of the Pacific Sisters exhibition, will give a talk in the exhibition, and the other galleries will be open for you to enjoy.
On the opening of Te Papa in 1998 The Friends of Te Papa, formerly The Friends of the National Art Gallery, moved into the new building, having just appointed Elizabeth Ridder as their first full-time manager. Over the past two decades Elizabeth has served under seven successive Friends of Te Papa Presidents and worked closely with Te Papa staff throughout the tenure of five CEOs. Elizabeth has now decided that it is time to hand over her management responsibilities and will step down at the beginning of June.
If you would like to join us for this special celebration, please RSVP to attend.
If you are unable to attend, there is also an opportunity to leave a message for Elizabeth on the RSVP form.
Elizabeth will be much missed and many of you have indicated you would like to contribute towards a gift for her. If you would like to do so, you can do this online on the RSVP form.
