Beyond Te Papa: Phoenicians & Mosaics

Spend an afternoon with Tony O’Connor, a specialist in the Roman Empire, who has excavated widely across Britain, Italy and North Africa. He has a particular interest in Roman North Africa, having excavated in Libya for many years. We are lucky enough to have Tony share 2 talks with us in the afternoon in quite different subjects.

Beyond Te Papa: Tectonics, Tsunamis and Technology

Tour: An Opportunity to Visit ‘Crofton’

Join the Friends in this wonderful opportunity of visiting Crofton in Ngaio, Wellington.  Crofton was built in 1857 for Sir William and Lady Sarah Fox as a country residence.  Sir William Fox was the second Premier of New Zealand, appointed in 1856.  This early colonial country house is one of the oldest surviving homes in Wellington.

Curator Talk: Gordon Walters

Lizzie Bisley, Te Papa’s Modern Art Curator, will give a tour of the Gordon Walters retrospective New Vision. This remarkable exhibition, which draws together a comprehensive group of works from across Walters’ career, was developed by Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.
