The Friends have been offered the opportunity for an exclusive visit to Solander Gallery on Friday, 5 July. The Gallery’s forthcoming exhibition is by Danielle Creenaune, a brilliant and award-winning artist specialising in print making. Not only will we meet Danielle, but she will take us through the exhibition with a floor talk and then give a demonstration of how she executes her prints.
Danielle is a highly respected international artist, born in Australia but now working out of her studio in Barcelona. She specialises in a particular printmaking technique which is rarely pursued by artists in New Zealand and which is called Mokulito.
Mokulito, or wood lithography, is a form of printmaking based on the principles of lithography using wood as a printing matrix instead of limestone.
