Tour: Parliament’s Art Collection

Experience Parliament’s art collection. This one-hour guided art tour led by Sarah Jacobs, Curator, and Tasha Fernandez, Displays and Collections Assistant, takes in some of the most significant artworks in the Parliamentary Collection.

The tour visits the Bowen House exhibition space and other areas across Parliament, viewing works by some of New Zealand’s most renowned artists such as Colin McCahon, Frances Hodgkins, Ralph Hotere, Melvin Day, Cliff Whiting, Susan Skerman, Para Matchitt, Fatu Feu’u, Robyn Kahukiwa and John Drawbridge.

Whether you like the traditional or prefer the more contemporary, there’s sure to be something for everyone.

Following the tour, at 2.30pm, there will be an opportunity to socialise at Parliament’s Copperfield’s Café.

Parliament is within 10 minutes walking distance of the Wellington Railway Station and bus stops on Lambton Quay and Molesworth Street. The main entrance into Parliament is located between the Beehive and Parliament House. Once you clear security screening, you will directly enter into the Visitor Centre. On arrival, please report to the staff at the Tour Desk.

Please note Parliament is a security conscious environment, you will be asked to participate in security screening and deposit all bags, mobile phones, cameras and other electronic devices. Please arrive no later than 1.15pm to allow time for this.
