To celebrate Queer History month…
Come along for a glass of rosé
At Mark Stocker’s talk on Oscar and Bosie.
A love that dared not speak its name,
A love that would not be denied,
A love that once brought howls of ‘Shame!’
A love that’s now about Gay Pride!
Mark Stocker will look at the changing perceptions of the late Victorian public towards Oscar Wilde, giving particular emphasis to his relationship with Lord Alfred Douglas (“Bosie”) and the trials of 1895, and what we think of Oscar today.
Registration required. To register, use the ‘Book now’ button or phone the office on (04) 381 7051.
