Although the Connells Bay segment of the Sensational Sculptures tour is now fully booked, you still have the option of joining the Wellington Sculpture Trust for a visit to Gibbs Farm, home to about 25 world-renowned sculptures, several of which have been added since the Friends of Te Papa visit in January 2009.
The timing fits nicely with the biennial headland SCULPTURE ON THE GULF exhibition on Waiheke Island, so you can visit Gibbs Farm on Friday and then enjoy the Waiheke Island experience over the rest of the weekend.
The cost of $250 includes entry to Gibbs Farm, return transport (a one-hour chartered coach ride from Auckland) and gourmet picnic lunch with wine. $200 of the cost will be receipted as tax deductible as a donation to the trust.
