Before Frances Hodgkins left for her first overseas trip in 1901, she painted, sketched and exhibited for some fourteen years. Art consultant Tony Mackle will show a selection of images from this period of her career (1886 – 1901) and illustrate how her fundamental interest in the human figure, and the shape and form of objects became the enduring hallmarks of her style.
