At this session we'll hear from 2 of Te Papa's curators about new collaborative methods of acquiring items for the national collection and curating communities histories. Sean Mallon will give us an overview on a few projects the Pacific Cultures team have been undertaking and Claire Regnault will take us on a deep dive into collecting aloha shirts from Hawai'i.

Lizzie Bisley, Te Papa’s Modern Art Curator, will give a tour of the Gordon Walters retrospective New Vision. This remarkable exhibition, which draws together a comprehensive group of works from across Walters’ career, was developed by Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and the Dunedin Public Art Gallery.

The Endemic Wall is one of the highlights of the new exhibition Te Taiao Nature.  It’s a beautiful demonstration of the great diversity of life that is unique to Aotearoa New Zealand.  There are over 600 species of animals, plants, and fungi displayed!
