THIS TOUR IS FULLY BOOKED
The name Anna Williams is synonymous with oriental rugs. Anna has made her reputation in repairing, mending, restoring and wall-mounting all kinds of handmade carpets, rugs, kelims, soumaks, and antiques. Since 1992 Anna has been repairing handmade carpets and rugs from all over New Zealand. She has a strong working relationship with Richard Pointon, Oriental Rugs, and is admired not only for her skills as a carpet repairer, but also for the integrity that she brings to whatever she takes on.
In 2005 Anna made her first trip to Iran to give herself the opportunity of working with the people there who repaired carpets. She has since made regular trips to Iran to study with rug restorers for her own professional development, and to purchase top quality yarns, wools, cottons and silks.
Anna is passionate about her work: carpet repairing for her is a natural progression of her love of spinning and weaving.
