Step Back in Time at Napier’s Art Deco Festival
Experience the glamour of the roaring 1930’s as Napier comes alive with vintage cars, jazz, and fabulous fashion.

Itinerary:
Day 1 : 19 February 2027 – Journey to Napier (D)
The coach will collect the group from one central point in Wellington City.
Today drive north along the Kapiti Coast, then head inland through the Manawatu region and north across the southern Hawke’s Bay region to the seaside city of Napier. Known as ‘The Art Deco City’, this beautiful town boasts stunning architecture after being rebuilt in the early 1930s following a devastating earthquake. On arrival, enjoy an orientation tour of the city before making our way to our accommodation for the duration of the tour. Tonight, we will enjoy dinner a local restaurant. After dinner, head to the Marine Parade and enjoy the vibrant start of the festival with the opening ceremony at the iconic Soundshell.

Day2: 20 February 2027 – Napier (B)
This morning is at your leisure to enjoy the Art Deco festivities. After finding some lunch (own cost) in the many cafes and eateries, take to the streets to enjoy the Classic Car Parade. The Royal New Zealand Navy band will lead the way for some of New Zealand’s oldest cars from the mid-1890’s through to the mid-1930’s. After this fascinating display we journey out to Mission Estate Winery, the oldest winery in New Zealand, established in 1851 by the French Marist religious order, for a tour and wine tasting. The remainder of the evening is free to enjoy the range of Art Deco festivities around the town.
Note: The full Art Deco Festival 2027 brochure will be available in late 2026 with a full schedule of events for the festival weekend. Any of these additional activities that you choose to participate in will be at your own expense/booking.
Day 3: 21 February 2027 – Napier (B)
This morning, we explore Hastings to view the Art Deco buildings around the city. We also include a stop to the popular Hawkes Bay Farmers Market, a place where the region’s finest growers and artisan producers supply their wares so you can buy direct from the source. Time is available here to get a bite to eat for lunch (own cost) before returning to Napier. This afternoon, we enjoy a guided tour on board magnificently restored Art Deco Vehicles. On this guided tour, we will be accompanied by an experienced chauffeur who will give us a light-hearted guided tour of Napier where we will learn about its intriguing history and fascinating highlights.
The remainder of the day is for you to enjoy the Art Deco festivities.
Day 4: 22 February 2027 – Napier to Wellington (B)
Today after breakfast, we depart Napier and drive south across the southern Hawke’s Bay region, then head inland through the Manawatu region and continue south along the Kapiti Coast to Wellington.
Coach will deliver group to one central meeting point in central Wellington.

Price: $2,590 per person twin share. Single supplement: $660
A deposit payment of $500 per person is required to secure your place on this tour, this is refundable up to 90 days prior to departure. The deposit payment is non-refundable within 90 days of departure unless the minimum numbers for the tour are not reached.
The balance payment is due 60 days prior to departure, this is non-refundable.
