Kate Camp – first impressions at Te Papa

Monday 4 May 2015, 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

$15.00

Kate Camp started in January as Te Papa’s new Communications Manager. “A big part of my job is finding great Te Papa stories and sharing them with the world. There is so much great stuff happening here we are really spoiled for choice: how many people can say they have Shackleton’s sled in the back cupboard? I feel like this is the perfect job for me and I’m really excited about the future.”

Kate has held a number of senior communications management roles, including at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Commerce Commission. She is also a poet, having won the New Zealand Post Book Award for poetry in 2011 and held the Creative New Zealand Berlin Writers’ Residency in 2012. Kate is also the voice of Kate’s Klassics, a monthly discussion of classic books with National Radio’s Kim Hill.

Kate will share her first impressions of Te Papa with the Friends, including some of her photos from her travels behind the scenes. She will also talk about her vision for Te Papa’s communications, and how Te Papa communications can connect with the Friends.

NB:  If the morning lecture does not suit, send us an email [email protected] with your preferred timing and we will explore scheduling a repeat of the lecture.

Registration required. To register, use the ‘Book now’ button or phone the office on (04) 381 7051.
