How to… Honour the Past to Enrich the Future

Thursday 23 May 2019, 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

$15.00 – $20.00

The reimagining of the nature zone in Te Papa has been years in the making with hundreds of people involved. Where would you even start? Well with research of course!

Join us for the second in our series of ‘How to…’ session to discover how Te Papa staff members collaborate and research to bring together huge exhibitions containing thousands of objects, facts and stories.

Explore the physical and digital libraries with Librarian Martin Lewis and Digital Asset System Manager Nicola Caldwell to see what information and images go into supporting and instructing exhibitions that engage people from all walks of life.

We’ll have the opportunity to see behind the scenes snapshots of the construction of Te Taiao | Nature, understand how Te Papa works with being able to use imagery in this ever evolving industry and view science books used to research Te Taiao, including beautifully illustrated flora and fauna and from the Great 18th and 19th century voyages of discovery.

How to… sessions are designed to share the amazing knowledge and talents of Te Papa’s staff. Speakers will share the work they do and how they do it.
