First look: Ngā Toi | Arts Te Papa

Friday 6 November 2015, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

A new spring season of Ngā Toi | Arts Te Papa opens 6 November with a major showcase of New Zealand photography, plus contemporary sculpture, portraits and much more. Celebrate the opening with a Friends’ viewing and a tour of two of the many highlights in this new season of art.

The gallery opens at 10am and at 10.30am Rebecca Rice, Curator Historical New Zealand Art, will discuss the exciting new acquisition by William Strutt in Upfront, and at 11am Sarah Farrar, Senior Art Curator will talk in Open Home, a contemporary art exhibition that explores what happens when homes go ‘on display’.

Members are also offered special discounts on this opening day: 20% discount at the Up Front Store on Level 5 and 20% at Espresso.  The discounts are valid all day until Te Papa closes at 6pm.  The 20% discount also applies to the new Te Papa Press publication New Zealand Photography Collected by Athol McCredie.

There is no need to register to attend, we look forward to seeing during the morning.
