Artists Jane Blackmore and Juliet Best at their Blackmore & Best Gallery and Studio, Shelly Bay

Meet the artists at work in their studios in Shelly Bay. At 10.30am we will start at the Blackmore & Best Gallery and Studio on the water’s edge. Artist Juliet Best will talk about how Te Papa and its taonga have influenced her work as she explores the themes of flora and fauna. Jane Blackmore will discuss how the viewer is challenged to interpret and reinterpret what they see in her landscapes.
After the visit to the gallery you will make your way up the drive to the collective of artist studios in the former Shelly Bay RNZAF Hospital and be free to explore all that Hayley May and her artist colleagues have to offer. You will see work in a variety of mediums and styles: painting, printmaking, glass, mixed media, photography and wearable art. All works are for sale.
Following your tour of the studios, enjoy coffee or lunch at the very popular Chocolate Fish Café.
