Art Tour and Dinner at Parliament

Wednesday 25 November 2020, 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$95.00

Join us at our special members’ evening and celebrate the end year with an art tour and dinner at parliament.

You will be guided by Parliamentary Art Curator Natasha (Tasha) Fernandez and her colleague on a one and a half hour stroll, viewing historical and contemporary art and object along the way. Notable artists will include Colin McCahon, Francis Hodgkins, Gavin Hurley, John Drawbridge, Mabel Hill, Philip Trusttum and Billy Apple.

The tour will begin at the Beehive and proceed through Parliament House, taking in a few Select Committee themed rooms, the Galleria, the Speakers Corridor and private lounge and dining room, and a walk through the Grand Hall to the Black and White tiles where the press gather to interview MPs. If time permits there may be peeks into the Library Reading room and foyer, plus into the Banquet Hall if not in use.

During the tour Tasha will share details about her role as a curator at Parliament, the Collection and how it was formed, and some of the displays of Collection items.

Dinner will be from 7.30pm. There will be a set menu, with a matching glass of wine for each course.

If you have any dietary requirements to let us know upon reserving your place. It is very important to us that you are well catered for. The restaurant will do all they can to make the meal memorable for you.

Plenty of parking will also be available on nearby streets at this time of the day.
