Aratoi, Wairarapa Museum of Art and History

Thursday 22 August 2013, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Free - Numbers are limited, bookings essential

You will travel by bus to Masterton, where, at Aratoi, Wairarapa Museum of Art and History, curator Haami Te Whaiti will lead a tour of Wairarapa Whakaputa Mohio – a fascinating introduction to the region’s rich history.

There’s a rare chance to see Masonic regalia and explore the Freemasons’ little-known ceremonies in an exhibition called Square & Compasses, and a behind-the-scenes tour with collection manager Bronwyn Reid. Then it’s homeward bound, with time for you to buy a late lunch and enjoy a spot of gallery hopping or window shopping in historic Greytown.

This is a free tour, supported by the Wellington Regional Amenities Fund, and the Friends of Te Papa. The tour will depart from, and return to Te Papa.

Check out the Aratoi website at www.aratoi.org.nz
