Anthesis Gallery Visit
Thursday 3 September, 10:30 am - 12pm
This is a wonderful opportunity to visit an art gallery and artist’s studio in the heart of Wellington.
Tatyana Kulida is a Russian-born Wellington artist who has travelled the world and has been creating classical artworks for over 20 yeas. Her paintings are in museums and private collections in USA, Europe and New Zealand.
Having studied and taught at the Florence Academy of Art, a world renowned school for realist painting, Tatyana moved to New Zealand with her family to seek new sources of inspiration and closeness to nature. Anthesis Atelier, her Cuba Street studio/school in the heart of Wellington, opened in 2016, and features classical still life and portraiture, florals, sculpture and high quality master copies.
Tatyana has received international recognition for her portraits with her prize winning work at the Royal Society of British Artists at the Mall Galleries, London in 2015. Here in New Zealand, Tatyana’s work has been recognized at the Peter Doig National Art Awards and she has been a finalist for the Parking Drawing prize as well as Wellington Regional Arts Review, 2018. Tatyana paints all her work from life, in natural light, following techniques and best practices of the Old Masters, and provides instruction in classical drawing and painting techniques.
Our visit to Anthesis Gallery will give you an intimate view into the art making process.
Anthesis Galley is a one-minute walk from the Michael Fowler Centre. There is lift access to Level 3, and some seating will be available in the Gallery.
