What is it like being a member of Te Papa’s writing team responsible for all text output, be it exhibition related, brochures, catalogues, direction signs etc?  Te Papa has a talented team of writers, many of them authors in their own right.

Te Papa writer Adrienne Jansen will give us insights into the wide range of writing she undertakes.  As well as talking about editing The Curioseum, Te Papa Press’s wonderful new kids’ book, Adrienne talks about her work as an exhibitions writer at Te Papa, writing about everything from Chinese emperors to deep sea creatures, and an exceptional year when she also co-wrote a Moroccan cookbook, published her third novel The Score, and was part of a new publishing house Escalator Press.

Adrienne writes fiction, non-fiction and poetry for adults and children. In 1993 she founded the Whitireia Creative Writing Programme, and at present teaches short fiction and editing.
