Join us for a special members-only preview of the new exhibitions in Toi Art, before it opens to the public. Having closed in May 2024 for renovations, the galleries will reopen with a fresh hang
of work from across the art, photography and decorative art collections.
Iconic works such as Ralph Hotere’s Black Phoenix (1984-88) will be shown alongside landmark new acquisitions. Deep-dive into Leslie Adkin’s early 20th-century photographs, spend time with paintings by artists such as John Pule and Barbara Tuck, and enjoy the work of leading British artist Lubaina Himid (brought here as part of a touring exhibition from Artspace Aotearoa).
The preview will include a series of short, curator-led floortalks. These start on Level 4 and run from 12.30-1.30.
