Sarah Farrar: Re-mix: Creative Uses of Art Collections by Artists, Curators and Museums
An introduction to creative re-mixing of art collections from the 1950’s until today, with a particular focus on the work of Italian Brazilian architect-curator Lina Bo Bardi (1914-1992), the Van Abbemuseum in the Netherlands, and contemporary New Zealand artist Fiona Connor (b.1981).

Mark Stocker: A Window into the Soul: Neo-Romanticism
Explore this important art and cultural movement in mid-20th century Britain, as seen in the works of artists such as Graham Sutherland, Paul Nash, John Piper and, not least, Frances Hodgkins. They had many younger generation admirers who consciously identified themselves as ‘Neo-Romantics’.

Each curator will speak for about 25 minutes on their chosen topic, followed by questions and an opportunity for further discussion over a glass of wine.

Registration required. To register, use the ‘Book now’ button or phone the office on (04) 381 7051.
